Mixed Level Jewellery & Silversmithing
Wednesday Afternoons | 14.30-17.30 | £160 | 8 weeks
Wednesday Evenings | 18.00-21.00 | £200 | 10 weeks
Create your own unique jewellery, design and create bespoke rings, earrings, bangles & necklaces to gift to someone special or to wear yourself.
This course provides the opportunity for skill development in jewellery and silver-smithing techniques. The well equipped studio enables students to learn a wide range of processes such as soldering, sawing, smithing, stone setting, texturing and polishing.
There will be some copper and brass available to begin the course but students will need to order and bring their own silver and other materials. Advice will be given regarding suppliers.
These two courses run for three terms every year, each term consists of 8-10 classes (Wednesday afternoons or evenings). We usually take a break over half term. Please check the afternoon dates carefully as the 10 sessions may not be consecutive due to Cambridge Woodwind Makers‘ instrument making courses taking place in the workshop.
This course is suitable for those with no experience.

Tutor | Rebecca Ilett
Rebecca Ilett is a sculptor and Jeweller whose work references stories, characters and ideas from literature. Her work often uses traditional methods and materials, chosen for their ability to illustrate a theme or story. She often uses humour and ambiguity in her work as a device to challenge.
Rebecca has been teaching jewellery making and silversmithing in London and Cambridge for the past 13 years, having originally trained as a sculptor. She has exhibited her work internationally, and was shortlisted for the John Ruskin Prize 2017.

Please note, the afternoon course dates vary according to Cambridge Woodwind Makers’ courses that share the same workshop. There may still be changes in dates, they will always be replaced by other Wenesday afternoon classes.
