Create stunning silk scarves. Weather permitting use sun dyeing and hapazome techniques to create nature based designs.
An opportunity to explore these two techniques on both calico and silk. Arrange foliage and flowers using dyeing techniques or hapazome; the process of transferring natural colouring from plants into cloth using a hammer! Expect lots of bashing as well as arranging of natural materials. Everyone will also have the opportunity to produce one silk scarf. If you wish to bring your own items to work with please contact us first to check they are suitable.
This workshop is perfect for creating your own wearable work of art for yourself or a friend and learn how to do your own at home.
All tools, materials, tea, coffee and biscuits will be available but please bring a packed lunch.
Be on the look out for where you can fresh pick any eucalyptus leaves, pansies, dandelions and similar plants!
Please note that the image shows hapazome on calico, not silk.
