Sewing for the Scared! | Tote Bags
with Gill Collinson
Saturday 6th June 2020 | 10.00-16.00 | £60
Do you have a sewing machine sitting in a cupboard somewhere, as yet unused but ready for that time when you will finally sit down and learn to use it?
This course is a complete-beginners guide to machine sewing; literally how to switch it on, thread it, sew in a straight line, start and stop, wind a bobbin and create a complete project!
Gill will guide you through the process of making a lovely, simple lined tote bag as a means to learning how to use a sewing machine.
All tools, materials, tea, coffee and biscuits will be available but please bring a packed lunch.
If you have your own sewing machine we recommend you bring that so you can learn for your specific machine, but we do have machines available. We also suggest bringing your own fabric as although we have some, it is of variable and limited quality. You would need 1/2m of (full width) fabric. If you would like a contrast strip you will also need to bring 20cm x 100cm of a contrasting fabric.

Please note this course, the kitchen and toilets are on the first floor up 1 flight of stairs. If this is going to pose a problem for you please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
