Course overview | Make your own professional wooden recorder with expert recorder maker, Tim Cranmore.
During this 5 day course you will be involved in making the tools required for the bore, turning the profile from drawings, drilling the tone holes, making the head-joint and cutting the windway, block fitting, and tuning and voicing the recorder.
With only two students on the course, you are assured dedicated attention as required.
Course director | Tim Cranmore: Internationally respected recorder maker.
Materials | Cedar & Maple (Boxwood on request and at extra cost).
Instrument type | Students will have the choice of making a number of baroque models, eg. Alto recorder after T. Stanesby jnr., A440 or A415, voice flute, A440 or A415, or tenor in C, A440.
Abilities | Suitable for adults and students over 16 years old: musicians, artisans and craftspeople.
Please note; if you have had prior woodturning experience you are more likely to complete your instrument satisfactorily within the week long course. If you do not finish we can arrange a continuation course for you. Please email Tim Cranmore @ email@example.com.

We will supply you with all the tools and a ready drilled blank for the recorder you will make.
Please bring your own workshop overalls, with dust and eye protection.
