A great introduction to relief printmaking with both lino and mountboard cuts. The relief technique works by removing or marking parts of your block (lino or mountboard) to create images with the remaining relief. Gouge the surface of lino with specialist tools to create beautiful prints from the un-cut surface that remains; the relief. Create multi-coloured prints with the use of masking, stencils, layering and other techniques. Using mountboard as a block offers a more sensitive technique; create marks and cuts in different ways to create prints with character and beauty. Sessions will include demonstrations, tutelage and time to practice and experiment with the resources provided. Some techniques will also be possible to practise from a home studio. This is a great workshop to develop and experiment to get the most from your image.
