Learn to Draw | Peacock Butterfly

A relaxing and friendly workshop learning to draw a realistic detailed butterfly with pastel pencils.
Emily will guide you through drawing a delicate and detailed peacock butterfly. This beginner-friendly class, calls for vibrant colours and basic core techniques which Emily will teach you throughout the workshop.
Pastel pencils are a versatile and rewarding medium to work in, Emily is a specialist in not only pastels but also wildlife and you are sure to enjoy producing this butterfly under her tuition.
You will begin by learning how to transfer an image and from there will build up the painting in layers, known as an underpainting. Emily will then show you how to add the illusion realism by balancing sharp detail and soft edges, finished off with a very convincing shadow under the wings – it may just take flight!
Finished size: 17 x 25cm
All equipment and materials will be provided and are included in the cost. However a second price option includes a set of pencils and an extra board to take home with you.
The course is suitable for complete beginners and those wishing to enhance their skills.
