Hand Spinning for Beginners
with Fay Jones
Saturday 28th August 2021 | 10.00-15.00 | £65
An ideal workshop for those looking to have a go at hand spinning, you will have the opportunity to prepare fibre and use both a drop spindle and a wheel to make your own yarn. You will have the opportunity to experience the different qualities of at least two different fleece types; of two rare breed sheep from Bury St Edmunds (Manx Loaghtan and Hebredian) and hopefully some Wensleydale (super long and also rare breed).
You will use wool ‘in the grease’ (unwashed), so be prepared to get a bit sheepy!
All tools, materials and light refreshments will be available but please bring a packed lunch.
This course is suitable for anyone from complete beginners.
