Course overview | During this intense six day course you will take part in the entire process of creating your own Baroque oboe in the style of Jacob Denner. pitched at 415 hz. It is also possible to request the D’amore model.
Course director | Paul van der Linden, baroque oboeist and baroque oboe maker.
Instrument type | The instrument made will be based on a Jacob Denner instrument pitched at 415hz or the D’amore model, both chosen for this course by Paul van der Linden. (NB. The first person to sign up for the course will decide which instrument will be made for each course.)
Abilities | Suitable for adults and students over 16 years old: musicians, artisans and craftspeople. Some woodturning experience is desirable but not essential. Ideally you would get experience in wood turning before you attend the course. Please contact us if you have had no practical woodworking experience at all before starting the course. It helps us plan the sessions.
Please note; if you have had prior woodturning experience you are more likely to complete your instrument satisfactorily within the week long course. If you do not finish we can arrange a continuation course for you.
